Screen tools

Press Ctrl + Shift + T in the palette to list wandeln’s built-in tools. You can also find them by name from a normal search.

Read text on screen (OCR)

Section titled “Read text on screen (OCR)”

The screen dims; drag a box around the text you want. The text inside is recognized and copied to the clipboard.

  • Uses the OCR engine built into Windows, so it works offline.
  • Recognized languages depend on the language packs installed in Windows.

Pick a color from the screen

Section titled “Pick a color from the screen”

Click anywhere on screen (multiple monitors supported) to grab that pixel’s color.

Clipboard to QR code

Section titled “Clipboard to QR code”

Shows the clipboard text (a URL, for example) as a QR code — handy for sending a link to your phone.

More tools

  • Shorten URLs — Paste a URL and choose “shorten and copy”. → Command palette
  • Download video / audio — dl <URL> saves MP4 / MP3.
  • Math & conversions — Currency, units, hex, color codes.
